What Industry is Relaxed for 25 percent work to Start after Crisis?

The central government is considering a request made by a majority of the states to extend the ongoing nationwide lockdown by two more weeks beyond April 14, government sources said on Saturday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's interaction with chief ministers. India is planning to restart some industries after April 15 to help offset the economic damage of a nationwide coronavirus lockdown, two government sources said, even as it weighs extending the lockdown.

As mentioned in the letter of ministry, they are restarting some manufacturing in the autos, textiles, defense, electronics and other sectors. The ministry said in the letter, addressed to the home ministry, that this could be achieved via reduced shifts with lower staff numbers to ensure social distancing.

As per MHA(Ministry of Home Affairs) notification, industries that shall be allowed to start must have to follow the mentioned points by MHA. In that case, the following industries may be permitted to start with minimum manpower, proper sanitation, and sitting norms/safeguards on a single shift basis : 

•  Heavy electrical items like transformers and circuit vehicles.

•  Telecom equipment and components including optic fiber cables.

•  compressor and condenser units

•  Steel and ferrous alloy mills

•  Spinning and ginning mills, power looms   

• Defence and defence ancillary units.

• Cement plants

•  pulp and paper units

• Fertilizer plants

• Paints and days manufacturing 

• All types of food and beverages

• Seeds processing units

• Plastic manufacturing units.

• Automotive units.

• Gems and Jewellery sector units (big and organized)

• All units in SEZs and EOUs

• Certain Rubber items related to medical/health care and domestic system-related manufacturing items.

• Timber, plywood and wood-based industry which provide packaging material to the pharma industry.

• Glass and foundry industry.

• All agriculture industries related to their input, production, distribution and sales.

Some Additional industries are going to be allowed by the state authorities

• All street vendors like fruit and vegetable sellers.

• Certain repairing units individual or small agencies who provide repair services in mobile, Electrical items like the refrigerator, air conditioner, television etc.

• Plumbing, cobblers, iron (dhobi), electrician, automobile machine, cycle repair mechanics.
